A TikTok Shop Alternative for Creators Who Don't Sell a Physical Product
TikTok Shop pays some of the best commissions in affiliate marketing — if you sell a shippable physical product in a supported country. Here's what to do instead if you're a coach, consultant, course creator, or service provider.

TikTok Shop is a genuinely strong deal for the creators it fits — affiliate commissions well above the rest of the industry, in-app checkout, and a marketplace of products built specifically to be tagged in a video. If you’re in beauty, home goods, or another shippable-product niche, and TikTok Shop is live in your country, there’s not much reason not to use it.
The catch is in that description. TikTok Shop is built around a physical product someone ships. If what you actually sell is your time — coaching, consulting, a service, a course — there’s no product to tag, no shop listing to create, and no commission structure that applies to you at all. This post is for that creator: what to use instead of TikTok Shop when TikTok Shop was never built for what you sell.
The gap, specifically
A coach selling 1:1 sessions, a consultant selling a discovery call, a service provider taking bookings, a course creator selling access to a program — none of these are a SKU with a shipping weight. TikTok Shop’s entire mechanism, tagging a product in a video so a viewer can buy it without leaving the app, doesn’t have an equivalent for “book a call with me” or “buy my course.” The creators in this category are stuck doing what TikTok creators did before TikTok Shop existed: sending people to a bio link and hoping the destination does the rest.
What the destination actually needs to do
For a physical product, TikTok Shop’s checkout is the whole job — tag it, someone buys it, done. For a service or course, the “checkout” is really a few different jobs stacked on top of each other, and they need to happen in one place:
Real availability, not a DM back-and-forth. A booking block holds actual open slots, synced to your Google Calendar so you can’t get double-booked, with a video-call link generated automatically for remote sessions. Someone who watched your video ready to book shouldn’t have to send a DM and wait for a reply to find out when you’re free.
A real payment, on your terms. A session or course can run through your own connected Stripe account, be offered free with a real signup captured, or be display-priced for something you’d rather invoice separately. All three modes work the same way a product does, and you’re the merchant of record on anything that runs through Stripe — the money is yours the moment it clears.
One link per offering, not one link for everything. TikTok Shop tags one product per mention. Your bio link doesn’t have to compress everything into one generic destination either — every booking offering, product, and form on a Keepp page has its own shareable link and QR code, so a video about your discovery call can point straight at that offering, and a video about your course can point straight at the course.
The course-and-coaching combination
A lot of creators in this category sell more than one thing at once — a free discovery call that leads into a paid coaching package, or a course alongside 1:1 sessions for people who want more than the course covers. Selling online courses and community access and a booking page for coaches and consultants cover those specific setups in more detail — the short version is that a free offering and a paid one can sit on the same page as separate blocks, so a viewer isn’t forced to choose between “watch the course” and “book a call” before they’ve decided which one they actually want.
Where to start
If TikTok Shop applies to what you sell, use it — the commissions are genuinely good. If it doesn’t, because what you sell is a service, a consult, or a course, build the page TikTok Shop can’t be for you: a booking offering with real availability, your course or program priced the way you want it, and a link for each one that a video’s caption can point to directly. Claim your page and set up your profile — free to start, bookings included on the free plan.
